History
No one knows exactly how or when coffee was discovered, though there are many legends about its origin.
The story of Kaldi, the 9th-century Ethiopian goatherd who discovered coffee when he noticed how excited his goats became after eating the beans from a coffee plant, did not appear in writing until 1671 and is probably apocryphal. Kaldi reported his findings to the abbot of the local monastery, who

The berries are typically harvested by a machine or picked by hand. In order to get the beans out, the fruit of the berry needs to be removed and after that the beans need to be processed. It’s only after they have been dried, roasted and ground that they can be used to brew the humble zip. If unprocessed coffee seeds are planted, they can germinate and grow into coffee plants.
There are only two known ways of processing beans - dry processing, which is an older technique and wet processing, which is a more modern technique. When the processing is done, the beans are sorted and the good ones are put in bags and shipped. At this point they are called “green coffee beans.”

However, there is one final step, roasting the beans. The roasting process is essential in coffee production. It requires the perfect timing and setting of temperature to provide the perfect product. While the beans roast, they will split and their coating will be released.

A darker roasted coffee generally does have more punch to its taste. This is because it has been roasted through to the second, or even in a few cases its third crack, allowing more of its natural oils to be released (the darker the roast the more oily the beans). This may give the impression of a stronger tasting coffee, but it is a myth to say that darker roasted coffee contains more caffeine than a medium roasted coffee. There is in fact a negligible difference in the caffeine content of a darker roasted coffee than its medium roasted counterpart, and therefore strength of the coffee from a caffeine perspective is broadly the same. So in short, darker roasted coffee will usually taste punchier and may give the impression of being a stronger coffee due to its taste, but won’t be any stronger as far as the caffeine content is concerned.
1. Coffee is a potent source of healthful antioxidants.
In fact, coffee shows more antioxidant activity than green tea and cocoa, two antioxidant superstars.Antioxidants fight inflammation, an underlying cause of many chronic conditions, including arthritis, atherosclerosis and many types of cancer. In other words, antioxidants help keep us healthy at the micro-level by protecting our cells from damage.
2. Caffeine provides a short-term memory boost.
3. Your liver loves coffee.
It’s true: In addition to lowering the risk of liver cancer, coffee consumption has been linked to a lower incidence of cirrhosis, especially alcoholic cirrhosis.Scientists found an inverse relationship between coffee drinking and blood levels of liver enzymes. Elevated levels of liver enzymes typically reflect inflammation and damage to the liver. The more coffee subjects drank, the lower their levels of enzymes.
4. Coffee can enhance exercise performance.
Caffeine is a performance and endurance enhancer; not only does it fight fatigue, but it also strengthens muscle contraction, reduces the exerciser’s perception of pain, and increases fatty acids in the blood, which supports endurance.
“Coffee - the favorite drink of the civilized world.”
